It’s that time of year again when the Canadian seal hunt/massacre commences. For many years now I, like thousands of people world-wide, have sign petitions, written e-mail, and sent letters appealing to the Canadian government to ban this cruel slaughter of helpless baby seals whose lives are brutally taken from them all for the sake of providing the fickle minded with fur.
Despite increasing global outcry and the closure of markets for seal products in 34 countries, the Canadian government continues to support this cruel and unnecessary slaughter.
The following video gives you an idea of what the 2014 slaughter of these helpless animals was like.
Warning very disturbing images of seal slaughter
Just makes you want to cry, how can people be so cruel, so callous, so unmoved by the taking of these innocent lives.
This year, incredibly, the Canadian government has sanctioned the slaughter of 400,000 harp seals to be clubbed or shot to death.
Please sign the care2 petition and send the International Fund For Animal Welfare IFAW and Humane Society’s messages
“Over 900,000 harp seal pups between the ages of two weeks and three months are brutally slaughtered and bashed repeatedly in the Gulf of St. Lawrence in the Magdalen islands of Quebec annually. These violent acts sole purpose are to provide seal skin pelts or clothing purposes.”

Please send a message to Stephen Harper – Prime Minister of Canada and Gail Shea – Canadian Minister of Fisheries and Oceans
Year after year, tens of thousands of seals are killed during Canada’s commercial seal hunt. The animals are skinned, and sometimes their flippers are cut off. Then their bodies are tossed away.
It’s an unnecessary, horrifying waste of life.
Please read more and send the message you can personalise the template message or if this is not possible send as it is. I understand the anger and frustration after years and years of urging the Canadian government to do the right thing but nevertheless please be polite.
If you have time you might want to send the following message to ask Stephen Harper and the Privy Council to end the slaughter once and for all with a federal sealing industry buyout.

What kind of cold-blooded mentality causes someone to condone the massacre of 400,000 defenceless animals, a blood bath of barbarity not worthy of any country which considers itself civilised. Such cruelty should have be consigned to history long ago .
Please sign the petition and send the messages, letters and or e-mail, try and take as much action as you can, we should not give up but continue to campaign to bring an end to this shocking and sickening atrocity.
