Below is a guest post by the animal and human rights activist and supporter of free software Luis Leonel.
The English musician, singer, songwriter and astrophysicist BRIAN HAROLD MAY, best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band Queen, is one the world’s best guitarists, he’s written some of the most memorable rock anthems of all time, and his band Queen is a global phenomenon. He’s also an animal rights advocate who, along with Anne Brummer, founded “Save Me” in 2010, an animal welfare organisation that campaigns against fox hunting and badger culling.
“Someone asked me recently what I wanted to be remembered for,” May wrote. “We Will Rock You? Playing atop Buckingham Palace? You? Playing atop Buckingham Palace? I said, given the choice, I’d rather be remembered for hastening the end of cruelty to animals and sowing the seeds for true respect in the way we treat all creatures.”
Be sure, Brian May, animal rights activists will remember you with profound gratitude. And don’t worry, too much love from them won’t kill you.
