Please Sign Petition: Stop the Horrific Ripping-Apart of Baby Foxes in Illegal Fox-Hunt ‘Cubbing’!

476973-1456769676-wide

Please sign and share the following petition. Despite the fact that fox hunting, hunting with dogs, is outlawed the horrific cruelty of so called cubbing continues it seems regardless of the law. Enforcing this law is ignored and a blind eye is turned concerning this barbaric obscenity. More suggested action to take further down.

Petition

” ‘Cubbing’ starts in August and ends in November each year. In the name of hunting, young fox-cubs are used to train young hounds, in a reduced woodland with little to no chance of escape before being ripped apart. Underground holes – fox earths and badger setts – are blocked to prevent the cubs having a safe place to hide. If these poor creatures escape underground, ‘terrier-men’ are on hand to ensure that they dig out the fox-cub. Hunt followers surround the woods to ensure that any terrified fox-cubs trying to escape are ‘flushed out’ and scared back into the mouths of the pack of hounds.

There need to be much tighter controls on ensuring that the illegal act of ‘cubbing’ does not take place and strict sanctions for those whom aid and abet it. 80% of people in the United Kingdom are against hunting in the United Kingdom. Please sign this petition and demand that our government and Defra uphold the law against this cruel and outdated practice, so that ‘cubbing’ is consigned to the history books forever. “

It is well worth signing this petition even though Cameron himself actively supports the reinstatement of fox-hunting being a keen participant of this barbaric “sport”. It is time he was made aware of the full impact of public opinion and that his own personally warped views on the issue does not negate his responsibility to ensure the law is enforced and prosecutions and penalties enacted.

You have to wonder at the sick mentality of those who derive pleasure from the torment and death of any animal being torn apart by dogs. To allow such barbaric behaviour to continue is not in keeping with any progressive society. Sadly it seems that in recent years in one way or another the UK cannot claim to be a progressive society in regards to improving and reforming unethical and monstrously cruelty treatment of animals.

CLOSE UP ON FOX CUB HUNTING

“A huntsman who knows his salt knows there is a vixen in a particular cover and that there are five cubs with her. He goes into the cover and soon the hounds pick up the vixen’s scent and speak to her. They rattle around a bit. She’ll try to warn them off and, when the going gets tough, put her cubs to what she considers safety underground, in the earth.

“She will then break cover to take the hounds away from the cubs… never mind that there are 50 frightful people out there making noises and shouting. She’ll run across the fields…The hounds will come out and chase her a bit.

“After a field or field and a half, the huntsman will call them back. Now they go to the earth where the cubs are and they dig them out. And they don’t kill one or two or three but every one of them, after which they congratulate themselves on a beautiful morning’s cubbing.” Former hunter Clifford Pellow.

Cub hunting takes place in the three months prior to the start of the official fox hunting season in November. The hunt gathers in the early morning when the foxes’ scent is strongest or, occasionally, in the evening before the sun sets. Mounted hunters and foot-followers surround the perimeter of a small wood, or covert, where foxes are known to reside. The earth is dug up and any cubs attempting to flee are driven back by the circle of hunters and supporters shouting and clapping their hands.”

https://www.change.org/p/house-of-lords-insist-the-government-keep-its-target-to-reduce-child-poverty-in-the-uk

The Government is planning to give up on its duty to reduce child poverty, by scrapping child poverty targets. – this petition needs around 24,000 more signatures to make a target of 75,000 so please add yours by clicking the above link.

You do not have to live in the UK to sign the petition so please everyone sign and share widely.

If you live in the UK please write to your MP: http://www.parliament.uk/get-involved/contact-your-mp/

The news of this appalling development in the never-ending stream of social injustices inflicted on UK citizens as been around a while and somehow I missed it. It is just so difficult to keep in touch with all the detrimental changes inflicted on the most vulnerable.

This outrageous ditching of the targets to remove child poverty by 2020 is in total contradiction of promises made as recently as this year’s new year speech where among other things Cameron pledged to alleviate poverty. His audacious hypocrisy knows no bounds as it is Cameron and his government who have driven people to poverty, destitution, homelessness and the ever increasing reliance on food banks.

In his New Year speech, Cameron said that the UK is in the middle of “one of the greatest reforming decades” in its history and set out four key priorities: tackling the housing shortage, combating extremism, alleviating poverty, and improving social mobility.

“These are the big challenges of our age, some of the biggest our nation has ever faced and this year is a test of our mettle – whether we put up with poverty or put an end to it…”

“For me, there are no new year’s resolutions, just the resolve to continue delivering what we promised in our manifesto,” said the prime minister, naming the problems of low home ownership, poverty, poor social mobility and extremism as his four priorities in 2016.

Alleviating poverty must of course include child poverty. The scrapping of the 2020 target is contradictory to such promises that this liar has made throughout his term in office.

Back in October in his speech at the Tory party conference Cameron promised an ‘all-out assault on poverty’. On his first day as leader of the opposition ten years ago he made the same promise ‘the test for our policies will not be how they affect the better off, but how they help the worst-off in our country’.

This was the kind of promise that brought him to government in the first place, with his so called new brand of “compassionate Conservatism”. Again he repeated the same promise during the first cabinet meeting after the general election when he told his ministers they should aim to “give everyone” in the UK “the chance to make the most of their life”. Children trapped in poverty do not get the chance to make the most of life, no one does.

It seems that instead of making the promised changes concerning child poverty by 2020 the government have decided to scrap this target.

All kids count. But the government plans to scrap its own targets to end child poverty. Effectively, they want to give up on the 1 in 4 children growing up poor.

When kids grow up poor they miss out – and so do the rest of us. They miss out on the things most children take for granted, they do less well at school and they earn less as adults. Child poverty costs us £29 billion a year. Making sure every child gets a fair chance in life is the right thing to do and the smartest investment we can make as a country.

Take Action do not let this vile government get away with yet another grave social injustice, despite all their rhetoric  to the contrary they do not give a damn about the majority of people in the UK. Cameron and his right wing government do not care about child poverty with their policies of benefit cuts that have driven 500,000 more children into “absolute poverty” since 2010 with more than four million children now living below the breadline

Now you see it…  Now you don’t.  The government’s rustled up a party trick for the kids this Christmas. They’re going to make 3.7 million of them disappear.

Britain’s children aren’t going anywhere, of course, particularly those who are growing up poor. But with a legislative sleight of hand, the government plans to quietly give up on the targets to end child poverty enshrined (with cross-party support) in the Child Poverty Act 2010.

When David Cameron became Tory leader, he wanted to end child poverty. Now he just wants to stop measuring it

In his 2006 Scarman Lecture, delivered as part of this attempt to ‘detoxify’ the Tory Party David Cameron said: “I want this message to go out loud and clear: the Conservative Party recognises, will measure and will act on relative poverty.” But following the 2015 General Election his Government has scrapped Labour’s target for tackling relative child poverty with Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith dismissing it as a flawed measure.

Looks like this b****** got what he wanted. Safe in his home in the Cotswolds this Christmas while the young die in a war, not for the sake of the people of Syria, not for the sake of people here in the UK, not for the sake of justice but for the sake of greed and power.

Most of us wherever we live, be it in Syria, the UK, France, the USA, Turkey … just want to live out our lives in peace. Instead our lives are destroyed by these power hungry sociopaths, mostly as a result of the insatiable quest for power and acquisition.

If this power hungry greed driven sociopath wants air strikes let him be amongst the first. Those who are sent into war, for war is what it is of course, put their lives at risk, it surely goes without saying; these are people whose individual lives matter, not statistics and vagaries but real people. Maybe misguided into joining the armed forces, maybe even willing to do so knowing the full significance of the actions they take. But whatever their reasons their lives are as important as Cameron’s is to him.

Also consider the civilian population, the Syrian people, thousands of innocent people will die. A sad day and a shameful one for the UK.

I wonder how keen Cameron would be if he like the Kings of times past was expected to lead his troops into battle. Would he be so all fired up to go to war if he had to leave his home and his family and put his life on the line? I doubt it. Like the coward he is he sends others to die with the callous indifference typical of the sociopath that he is.

In this time of so called austerity when allegedly there is not enough money to pay for benefits for sick and disabled people or the unemployed, where 3.7 million Children live in poverty and people have to rely on food banks and endless austerity measures such as cuts to public services there is always money for war.

Cameron: A Sociopath?

Is Cameron a sociopath?

What kind of person deliberately makes life more difficult for people who already struggle with disability and chronic illnesses by forcing them to seek work they are too ill to do, work that does not in any case exist or sanction their meagre benefits. What kind of person allows children to live in poverty and sick and disabled people to die for want of food which has happened here in the UK as a result of vicious welfare reforms. What kind of mentality allows others to continually live in a state of anxious dread and insecurity which is now a way of life not only for the sick, disabled and the unemployed but for most people here in the UK except the very rich? In fact what kind of person allows people to die or suffer these and other dire consequences or deliberately causes any preventable detriment?  What goes on in the mind of a person who considers that the rich should thrive at the expense of those less fortunate and endeavours to assist them in the abhorrent pursuit of wealth?

Such a person has to suffer from some kind of psychopathic condition, a sociopath perhaps. Another explanation is that he or she is evil. Ask yourself: what other reasons could there be? What other reason is there to explain the cold callous behaviour of a government whose leader condones profiteering at the expense of other people, other animals and the environment, puts the interests of the rich over those of the poor, who is hell-bent on the destruction and pollution of the environment as a result of fracking which most people are against? What kind of person allows the deliberate profiteering and manipulative practices of the energy companies for example, whose greed driven price hikes cause the premature deaths of thousands of people not to mention the misery of being cold and perhaps ill as a result.

What reason other than insanity or evil is causing the government to demonize the disabled and long-term sick, blaming them for the failing economy much like the Nazi party did in pre-war Germany when government propaganda singled out the disabled as the reason for their dire financial problems. We cannot describe such people in any other term than evil or sociopathic, what other reasons can there be for their extreme behaviour.

In the main Tory policy is responsible for the misery and suffering here in the UK and elsewhere. The people who are mostly responsible for the present evil here in the UK are most notably David Cameron, Ian Duncan Smith, George Osborne and… no doubt many others. Any MP who votes for any of the detrimental policies in recent years is complicit even if they themselves are not the instigators of these damaging policies.

Are such politicians sociopathic or evil

Jim Kouri, vice president of the National Assn. of Chiefs of Police, has collected a series of personality traits common to a couple of professions. These traits are superficial charm, an exaggerated sense of self-worth, glibness, lying, lack of remorse and manipulation of others.

According to Kouri such traits are common to psychopathic serial killers and American politicians. Obviously any politician.

“Kouri notes that these criminals are psychologically capable of committing their dirty deeds free of any concern for social, moral or legal consequences and with absolutely no remorse.
“This allows them to do what they want, whenever they want,” he wrote. “Ironically, these same traits exist in men and women who are drawn to high-profile and powerful positions in society including political officeholders.”

In the article Oh-oh! Politicians share personality traits with serial killers: Study:
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/06/politicians-and-serial-killers.html

Profile of the Sociopath

“This website summarizes some of the common features of descriptions of the behavior of sociopaths.

  • Glibness and Superficial Charm
  • Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.
  • Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as “their right.”
  • Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.
  • Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.
  • Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.”

Read the complete list:
http://www.mcafee.cc/Bin/sb.html
Most of the above list of traits readily fits Cameron’s persona. Note the inclusion of “aberrant behaviors such as cruelty to people or animals”

Cameron so enjoys cruelty to animals he continues to push for the repeal of the fox hunting ban (hunting with Dogs) despite the fact that most people do not want a return to this barbaric pass time – I am not going to call it sport. Brian May says that Cameron has “no compassion for animals whatsoever.”

Note the following quote:

The behavior of men to the lower animals, and their behavior to each other, bear a constant relationship
Herbert Spencer

http://capitalism-creates-poverty.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/tories-and-sociopaths.html

Don’t get sociopathy confused with mental illness, there is no comparison.Sociopaths are not mentally ill, they do not suffer the torment of mental illness. Though it is listed in the DSM – more recently as “antisocial personality disorder”-  it is not in the same category as more common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Sociopathy is in my opinion not a mental health problem. Mental health problems cause severe disruption of one’s life, these conditions are a serious detriment and most people would rather not suffer in this way and wish to be rid of such afflictions. Sociopaths on the other hand do not see themselves as ill or wish to be anything other than who they are.

It is important to note that mental health sufferers are facing a nightmare of existence as a result not only of the devastating effect of their conditions but as a result of welfare reforms which are targeting them in recent months with the consequence of deteriorating mental health and many suicides.

Here is how government polices are destroying the lives of those with mental health problems

Cuts to services

Cuts to UK mental health services are destroying young lives and families

£80m has been cut from the NHS mental health budget for children and adolescents in the past four years, including £35m in the last year alone
http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/jul/27/uk-child-mental-health-services-destroying-lives-families

Benefit Sanctions:

How benefit sanctions punish people with mental health problems the hardest

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/ampp3d/how-benefit-sanctions-punish-people-5005786

New data: More than 100 people per day with mental health problems are having their benefits sanctioned

http://www.methodist.org.uk/news-and-events/news-releases/new-data-more-than-100-people-per-day-with-mental-health-problems-are-having-their-benefits-sanctioned

I hope to write more detailed information concerning the government’s deliberate targeting of people with mental health problems in another entry.

The shocking fact is despite all the government rhetoric that work is good for mental health generally speaking the opposite is true. The sad thing is that a person with a mental health condition cannot get a job or cope with holding a job for very long yet sociopaths rule the world, destroying our lives, the lives of other creatures and the planet itself.

Of course the mentally ill are not alone in their suffering as a result of Tory policies, people with all kinds of disabilities and illnesses, the unemployed and the low paid now live difficult lives as a result of the detriment of conservative ideology that favour’s the rich over the poor.

In my opinion the answer to the question posed in the above graphic is a resounding yes!!!!!!

Whether or not Cameron or his cohorts fit the diagnostic criteria of a Sociopath according to the DSM I couldn’t confirm. Nevertheless there is no doubt that he and his accomplices are evil and if we stand by and do not speak out we are in some small way complicit.

If we do not oppose this vile government all the progress of the last 60 years will be destroyed as the Tory’s dismantle our welfare system.

Consider the following which is very very loosely based on a poem below by Pastor Friedrich Gustav Emil Martin Niemöller who was an anti-Nazi and Lutheran pastor. You can read the original further down

“First they took away incapacity benefit, replaced it with a new benefit Employment and support allowance which was lower paid and made disabled people work, but I was healthy and able to find well paid work, so I did not speak out.

Than they paid the unemployed a pittance, not enough to support their families and forced them to work the hours of a fully paid employee for their job seekers allowance with the threat that if they did not do so their meagre benefit would be reduced or taken a way, but I was healthy, well educated and able to find well paid work so I did not speak out.

Next they proposed to take away the attendance allowance, but I had no dependents in need of attendance so I did not speak out

Than they came for DLA a benefit that once transformed the lives of the disabled and chronically sick allowing them to participate more fully in society and give them a greater independence. But I was well and able to get about so I did not speak out

They reduced and privatised the free health service until it finally dwindled to nothing but I was well, I had a well paid job and good insurance so I did not speak out.

Finally they phased out the retirement pension beginning with the warm front payment. Now I was old and sick and I could no longer be employed in my well paid job, recessions and continuing ill health had robbed me of my wealth. I died alone, destitute, impoverished and in pain, as by now there was no one left to speak out or support me in my time of need.”
Anonymous 2011

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

Yet again Cameron and his government are taking money from the poorest in our society. Yet again he and his cronies are implementing austerity measures on the poor and most vulnerable who, as is the case of most of us, had nothing to do with the so-called financial crisis which is in my opinion merely a ploy to dismantle piece by piece our welfare state and enslave people to poverty and low wages.

There are so many people in poverty now. Cutting Child tax credits will make this worse, what are people supposed to live on, how are they to feed their families? You cannot just remove a vital income with nothing to replace it. Wages need to considerably rise first. This is unjust and not worthy of any modern society. While in the UK the rich have got considerably richer the poor get poorer and poorer, it is shameful.

Child tax credits are essential support for families who aren’t getting paid enough to live on. They help to pay the rent, provide food and clothing such as school uniforms, a requirement of most schools.

No one in this rich country of ours should be receiving wages so low that they cannot afford to live. Things need to change, we must demand better for ourselves our children and future generations.

But until something is done about wages, for many families tax Child Tax Credits mean the difference between eating and going hungry, having a warm home or shivering in the cold, having a roof over your head or being homeless. Poverty can effect a child’s health and even educational prospects and as a consequence their entire future.

There is no reason, at least no rational or moral reason why the NHS cannot give this life saving drug to this unfortunate child. In fact it is in my opinion highly unethical to deny anymore life saving treatment or indeed any medical treatment that is available. The rules need to change.

The right to the best medical treatment that medical science has to offer should be a basic human right for each and every person on the planet.

Don’t Vote Conservative: Unless You Want to Wave Goodbye to the NHS

“The NHS has been reduced to such a state that, if things don’t change, it could be about to get a whole lot worse.
“The extreme Tory spending plans will see social care further stripped out, pushing hospitals to breaking point.
“And, with the Health and Social Care Act still in force, the next parliament could see the NHS sunk by a toxic mix of cuts, crisis and privatisation.”

Before voting consider the following:

More than 140 top doctors attack government record on NHS

Letter from senior health professionals says coalition has left NHS in weakest position ever and calls on people to use votes to reinstate service

“As medical and public health professionals our primary concern is for all patients. We invite voters to consider carefully how the NHS has fared over the last five years, and to use their vote to ensure that the NHS in England is reinstated,”

“… the NHS “is withering away and if things carry on as they are then in future people will be denied care they once had under the NHS and have to pay more for health services. Privatisation not only threatens coordinated services but also jeopardises training of our future healthcare providers and medical research, particularly that of public health.”

More extracts from the Doctor’s letter to the Guardian:

“After five years of a government which pledged to protect the NHS, this election campaign makes it timely to assess its stewardship, since 2010, of England’s most precious institution. Our verdict, as doctors working in and for the NHS, is that history will judge that this administration’s record is characterised by broken promises, reductions in necessary funding, and destructive legislation, which leaves health services weaker, more fragmented, and less able to perform their vital role than at any time in the NHS’s history.

In short, the coalition has failed to keep its NHS pledges.”

Here is the most important section:

“Jeremy Hunt has been left red-faced tonight as a bombshell leaked email exposes a “desperate” Tory plot to organise their own letter from doctors.

5 More Toxic Years? Say goodbye to our NHS

DAVID Cameron’s “ideological prescription” for cuts and privatisation could kill off the NHS within five years, shadow health secretary Andy Burnham warns today.

Writing exclusively for the Morning Star, Mr Burnham insists it is “no exaggeration” to say the future of the NHS as a public service is at risk if the Tory Prime Minister stays in office.

Labour’s health chief says a looming £7 billion funding shortfall combined with the Tories pro-privatisation policy will “create a toxic medicine that may well finish the patient off.”

NHS charges are certain if Tories win election

“The BMA rightly raises the spectre of the NHS being subject to charges for medical treatment after the election.   This has become a real threat as a result of Tory policy over the last 5 years – partly from the unprecedented imposition of £20bn cuts amounting to nearly a fifth of the entire NHS budget, and partly as a result from a third or more of hospital trusts now being in deficit and a growing minority being cast into actual bankruptcy.   All three political parties deny they have any such plans, and of course it would be politically suicidal if they did anything else.   But are they all credible?   The Tories have hugely increased charging for social care by imposing 40% cuts in the social care of the elderly and disabled.   They have expanded private dental care to such a degree in cost and coverage that DIY dental first aid kit is now growing fast – one estimate now by DenTek, one of the biggest sellers of kits, claims there are already a quarter of a million users.   And there are other reasons too why charging is very likely to be Tory policy after the election.”

Well I could go on the evidence is overwhelming, five more years of Tory government will see an end to the NHS. If you value our NHS and think that free health care is a human right and should not be privatised DON’T VOTE CONSERVATIVE!!!!!!!!!

For the Sake of Animals Don’t Vote Tory

Our humanity isn’t measured by how we treat other people…Our humanity is measured by how we treat animals.
Chuck Palahniuk

If you love animals and wish to protect our wildlife don’t vote Tory in the general election.

10500290_1002425336452866_6985457337305235400_n

The cruel and indiscriminate slaughter of our wildlife has to stop: hunting, shooting, deer stalking, the organised and legalised killing of animals such as badgers and other barbarous and wanton killing of defenceless animals. Such has no place in any civilised country.

With the coming election we have the power to bring an end to some of these atrocities.

If the conservatives are elected they intend the following concerning our wild life here in the UK.

The badger cull will be extended across the country

“If elected, the Tories would roll out the culling programme more widely across the country to areas where the disease was most common… Culls could begin as early as this year.”

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/earth/wildlife/11431886/Badger-cull-extended-across-Britain-if-we-win-election-Tories-say.html

Apparently this will happen no matter about what you or I say:

“We will not let up, whatever complaints we get from protesters groups. We are in it for the long haul and we will not walk away.” Liz Truss ,environment secretary

If elected the Tories intend to reinstate fox hunting.

David Cameron says he wants to repeal the fox hunting ban.

“The Conservatives will hold a parliamentary vote on repealing the fox hunting ban if they win the next election, David Cameron has said.

The Prime Minister, who has previously ridden with the Heythrop Hunt in Oxfordshire, said he believed in the “freedom to hunt” and wanted fox hunting legalised.”

Cameron knows this but gives no regard to the wishes of the majority.

Brian May is leading an anti blood sports campaign in the face of the Conservative resolve to repeal the law against fox hunting, stag hunting and hare coursing if they get win the forthcoming election.

Cameron himself enjoys hunting and shooting stags.

“…the Prime Minister has been hunting down and killing animals for more than 20 years. Apparently he is one of the few marksmen skilled enough to shoot two stags in one go.

The fact remains that hunting is cruel and causes animals unnecessary suffering. It’s appalling that our country’s leader indulges in killing for the sheer fun of it

When animal cruelty is portrayed by some as a ‘sport’, it debases society and perpetuates unacceptable animal cruelty. Blood sports have no place in an ethically developed society. That is why polls repeatedly show that the vast majority of Britons oppose such gratuitous violence. We expect our elected politicians to protect the vulnerable and helpless, not to destroy them – much less to derive pleasure from it.”

He also enjoys fox hunting, read the following rant from Cameron

“I have spent all week in a state of complete fury.

Like a man possessed with an advanced case of Tourette syndrome, I have been shouting at traffic and assailing my fellow men (and women).

What has brought on this demented state? The hunting debate

It is difficult to explain why this one issue makes me so furious.

Sitting in parliament involves hours of listening to opinions with which you profoundly disagree. I am usually able to do this without shouting, but as soon as I hear Labour members calling for hunting to be banned, I completely lose it.

When John McFall (Dumbarton) gets to his feet I shout “go back to Scotland, you’ve already banned it.”

Interrupting Gerald Kaufman during one of his lengthy and over-precise questions to the minister, I heard myself baying “shut up, you pompous prat.”

During the hunting debate I sat patiently for five hours without catching the Speaker’s eye. My carefully prepared speech was steadily crumpled and shredded in frustration.”

These remarks were made by then MP, now unfortunately Prime Minister, David Cameron in the Guardian Newspaper.

This is the tirade of the man who has been running or might I say ruining the country for the last five years. What does it say about his mentality?

His sickening enthusiasm for hunting a defenceless animal after pursuing him with a pack of hounds is nothing short of disturbing, not only because of the barbaric cruelty involved but because of his zealous even obsessive determination to pursue the matter of preventing a ban on hunting with hounds.

Also see my blog post
https://rantingsfromavirtualsoapbox.wordpress.com/2013/03/19/can-we-really-judge-a-mans-heart-by-his-treatment-of-animals/

“Cruelty to dumb animals is one of the distinguishing vices of low and base minds. Wherever it is found, it is a certain mark of ignorance and meanness; a mark which all the external advantages of wealth, splendour, and nobility, cannot obliterate. It is consistent neither with learning nor true civility.”
William Jones

Did you know  MPs, receive more mail regarding animals than on any other topic yet so little is done concerning thier welfare

Many might say that voting simply to protect wildlife might be rather too focused on a single issue while ignoring the whole picture. However one has to consider the type of thinking and the mentality of a person who devotes so much energy into reinstating a barbaric pastime such as Fox hunting and who pursues other cruel “sports”. If you can callously and wantonly and even worse enjoy killing an animal how can you feel compassion and concern for another human being. To kill an animal so readily with enthusiasm brings such a person a step or indeed several steps closer towards doing likewise to his own species. Though in Cameron’s case he does not kill people of course but most certainly he is willing to implement laws and reforms without a qualm which have resulted in the suffering and death of other people, such as the welfare reforms which have been responsible for deaths of thousands of sick and disabled people.
Consider the following quote from St Francis:
“Not to hurt our humble brethren (the animals) is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission–to be of service to them whenever they require it… If you have men who will exclude any of God’s creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men.”
This rather explains cameron’s lack of basic compassion towards those who are vulnerbale in our society

So you see that to not vote Tory for the sake of animals has a far-reaching effect. Really who wants a cold-blooded person who enjoys killing defenceless animals running the country and indirectly our very lives. I know I don’t that’s for sure.

“This tendency [to cruelty] should be watched in them [children], and if they incline to any such cruelty, they should be taught the contrary usage. For the custom of tormenting and killing other animals will, by degrees, harden their hearts even towards men… And they, who delight in the suffering and destruction of inferior creatures, will not be apt to be very compassionate or benign to those of their own kind.”
John Locke

For the sake of our wildlife, and for the sake of the most vulnerable in our society don’t vote Tory.

“We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.”
Immanuel Kant, Lectures on Ethics

Where do our main political parties stand on animal welfare.

With the exception of the Green Party and Labour trying to find  an entire up-to-date manifesto which includes detail of animal welfare is proving extremely difficult. In fact it has been quite a task to easily locate most of the manefestos

Here is what I have found.

Labour’s stance on wildlife and animal welfare:

“Six things you need to know about Labour’s plans to protect animals

We will also build on our proud record on animal welfare – starting with an end to the Government’s inhumane and ineffective badger cull, and a commitment to maintain the ban on hunting with dogs.”

http://www.labour.org.uk/blog/entry/six-things-you-need-to-know-about-labours-plans-to-protect-animals

Labour will axe badger cull and ban wild animals in circuses if it wins election in May
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/labour-axe-badger-cull-ban-5185304

The green party’s stance on wildlife and animal welfare:

The expansion and development of human society has inevitably affected the lives of many other species. Disruption to their lifestyles has been both accidental and deliberate and has resulted in suffering, death or even extinction. The prevailing assumption that animals can be used for any purpose that benefits humankind is not acceptable in a Green society.

Long Term Aims

To eliminate the wholesale exploitation of other species, foster understanding of our inter-relationship in the web of life and protect and promote natural habitat.

The green party have an impressive list of animal welfare polices, it is well worth reading the above.

Plaid Cymru

“We support the introduction of a European-level Animal Welfare Commissioner and adoption at all government levels of the new and comprehensive Animal Welfare law to end animal cruelty.”

http://www.partyof.wales/2015-manifesto/ while very vague – the above is the only mention of animals and animal welfare in the entire manifesto – I have to say though that Plaid Cymru have done a great job in making their manifesto easily accessible on-line, there is even an audio version and a simplified version.

UKIP do not appear to have any kind of manifesto, apparently no one is interested until after Easter:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/ukip/11448569/Nigel-Farage-no-Ukip-manifesto-until-after-Easter-how-it-happened.html

The conservative stance on animal welfare appears non existent. Their only commitment concerning animals is negative and is their pledge to reinstate hunting with dogs (fox hunting) and the continued killing of badgers.  According to Cameron: “The Hunting Act has done nothing for animal welfare. A Conservative Government will give Parliament the opportunity to repeal the Hunting Act on a free vote, with a government Bill in government time.”  How hell can the bill have done nothing for animal welfare? It has saved foxes from a cruel death. If it has had little effect it is only as a result of the blatant flouting of the law by hunters who are rarely prosecuted.

A decade on from the ban, fox hunting is still thriving

If we send the message that police and politicians can turn a blind eye to illegal behaviour simply because they don’t like the law, the entire justice system is undermined.”

Here is how Cameron justifies hunting

“It is my firm belief that people should have the freedom to hunt, so I share the frustration that many people feel about the Hunting Act and the way it was brought in by the last government,”

It’s not about freedom it’s about what is right and what is wrong, it’s about ethics and morality, it’s about the right of animals to live their lives free from harm and abuse, it’s about ethical progress and making the world a better place for both human and non human animals. You could use the freedom excuse to justify just about anything even killing each other.

Note: There is at the time of writing no Tory manifesto as a result of Cameron demanding a rewrite
http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/coffeehouse/2015/03/cameron-orders-a-re-write-of-the-tory-manifesto/

Liberal Democrats

… work to restore habitats for bees and other flying insects.

Introduce effective, science-led ways of controlling bovine TB, including by investing to produce workable vaccines. We will only support extending the existing cull pilots if they have shown they can be effective, humane and safe.

Improve farm animal welfare and reduce the use of animals in scientific research, including by funding research into alternatives.

http://www.libdems.org.uk/liberal_democrats_launch_2015_pre_manifesto – how the hell can it be humane to kill badgers, there is never ever anything humane about killing a healthy animal.

Scotiish National Party

I can find any mention of animal welfare polices in their 2015 manifesto:
http://votesnp.com/campaigns/SNP_Manifesto_2011_lowRes.pdf  Though there is information concerning their stance on animal welfare in the EU: Our Animal Welfare priorities for Europe:
http://www.animalaid.org.uk/images/pdf/SNP_Animal_Welfare.pdf

Concerning the above parties the Greens come out the best for animal welfare and animal rights, with Labour the next in line.

The Iron Lady’s Prayer: A Parady

15843499298_067f071efa_h

“Parody! Barely.

The Conservative’s* prayer to their goddess of greed, Margaret Thatcher. Her state funeral last year was bordering on outright worship of Thatcher and her ideological legacy of self-centred greed which with all the other branches of libertarianism/capitalism, is creating global harm on a colossal scale: fueling poverty, oppression and environmental devastation.

It’s bad enough when anyone participate’s, but even as an ex-christian, I find the sight of hypocrite’s who pretend to be religious, happily pushing the cult of greed over need; sickening. People who have no problem with the gaping wealth inequality, the poverty, the foodbanks, the homelessness.”

I cannot and never will understand the cult of greed at the expense of other people, other animals, the earth itself, our very existence and the existence of future generations. The insatiable greed of the few is like an illness, a compulsion when enough is never enough. Like a gambling or other addition it leaves nothing but misery in its wake.  Sadly it is mostly those of this ilk who rule the world and our lives, yet few challenge this status quo. Here in the UK benefits are being stripped from disabled people, people who are too sick to work who can in many cases barely cope with day-to-day living yet are considered fit to work and for non compliance are left destitute with no income, not even the means to obtain food, shelter or warmth, all of which are basic human rights that we all should demand. While food banks open at an alarming hitherto unparalleled rate and people die in their own homes from cold here in the sixth richest country in the world, the rich get richer.

While a child dies of hunger every three seconds in so-called developing countries, while people die of preventable disease and the want of clean water and medical care, have no shelter, no education, no hope and no future, the decadent 1 percent continue living their extravagant life styles accruing more and more wealth at a phenomenal rate.

Here in the UK thanks to the sociopathic polices of Thatcher and her even more warped successor Cameron and his cohorts the gap between the have and the have nots is growing ever wider, more so here than anywhere else in Europe.

How the super rich got richer: 10 shocking facts about inequality

The gap between the super rich and the rest of us is spiralling out of control, with Britain’s 1% grabbing more than their counterparts anywhere else in Europe.

“The coalition government has already reduced the top rate of tax to 45%. Now it plans tougher benefit cuts for the poor. Under current financial plans, it will reward the top 1% even more in future, by cutting income taxes further. The rest of the top 20% can expect slight increases in their net income in the years up to 2016, while everyone else is impoverished.”

“We are facing a fork in the road between having a majority global middle class, or most of us becoming a global service class employed to satisfy the needs of a tiny minority of super-rich individuals.

In spring this year, Oxfam revealed that some 85 of the world’s richest people now had as much wealth as the poorest half of all humanity. A few weeks later, Forbes magazine updated that estimate to just 67 people. Then, within days, they corrected that estimate on their website to 66 people, so fast was the wealth of the multi-billionaires rising in the world during early 2014.”

Interesting to note the following:
London’s wealthy elite also includes the largest concentration of Russian millionaires found outside of Moscow – at least 2,000, many of whom are also “Ultras”. It is impossible to accurately assess their wealth because so much of it is hidden. But the donations from many of them to the Conservative party suggest that they have a direct interest in maintaining the low tax – especially wealth tax – policies of that party. It is not just property that the Russians are buying.

Are the super rich getting even richer?

The world’s richest 1 per cent will own more than the other 99 per cent by next year, a charity warns.

“Do we really want to live in a world where the 1 per cent own more than the rest of us combined? The scale of global inequality is quite simply staggering and despite the issues shooting up the global agenda, the gap between the richest and the rest is widening fast.

“In the past 12 months we have seen world leaders from President Obama to Christine Lagarde talk more about tackling extreme inequality but we are still waiting for many of them to walk the walk. It is time our leaders took on the powerful vested interests that stand in the way of a fairer and more prosperous world.

“Business as usual for the elite isn’t a cost free option – failure to tackle inequality will set the fight against poverty back decades. The poor are hurt twice by rising inequality – they get a smaller share of the economic pie and because extreme inequality hurts growth, there is less pie to be shared around.”

Oxfam International executive director Winnie Byanyim quoted in the Channel4 article:
Are the super rich getting even richer?

Wealth: Having it all and wanting more –  A report by Oxfam

Global wealth is increasingly concentrated in the hands of a small wealthy elite. These wealthy individuals have generated and sustained their vast riches through their interests and activities in a few important economic sectors, including finance and insurance, and pharmaceuticals and healthcare. Companies from these sectors spend millions of dollars every year on lobbying to create a policy environment that protects and enhances their interests further. The most prolific lobbying activities in the US are on budget and tax issues; public resources that should be directed to benefit the whole population, rather than reflect the interests of powerful lobbyists.

This briefing explains Oxfam’s methodology and data sources and updates key inequality statistics, such as Oxfam’s frequently cited fact in 2014: ‘85 billionaires have the same wealth as the bottom half of the world’s population’

Surely enough is enough, when are we going to take a stand against the greed of the few at the expense of the many. Time for a fair society, one that allows people to have fulfilling lives including of course the very basics which so many people lack such a shelter, food, clean water, warmth, education and health care, without exploitation of other human beings, other animals or the planet.

While the Oxfam initiative is a good start the ultimate fair world consists in removing ownership of the world’s resources from individuals who for all intents and purposes control these often essentials for the life, health and wellbeing of the vast majority of the world’s inhabitants.

“Gross economic inequality is as vile as racism, misogyny and hatred of the disabled; as damaging in effect; and as dependent on a small group of supporters who believe that just a few should have more and more and more, because they’re worth it.”

Danny Dorling

Reasons Not to Vote Conservative in the 2015 General Election: Privatisation of the NHS

During the lead up to the general election here in the UK I am going to include a series of entries under the heading: Reasons Not to Vote Conservative in the 2015 General Election . These periodic postings will as the title suggests concern the many reasons why we should not vote Tory. Each post will centre on one issue, today’s post concerns the privatisation of the NHS and its disastrous consequences.

What should be the glory of the profession is that a doctor should be able to meet his patients with no financial anxiety.
Aneurin Bevan – Labour Party politician best known for his part in the creation of the National Health Service after World War II.

Aneurin Bevan’s stated ambition was to build a health service based on four principles: it was to be free at the point of use, available to everyone who needed it, paid for out of general taxation, and used responsibly.

Sixty-six years on our NHS is under threat from the Conservatives who originally strongly opposed its inception.

If you value our NHS don’t vote Tory in the forthcoming 2015 general election.

Despite pre-election promises and against the wishes of the overwhelming majority the conservatives have steadily and systematically privatised our NHS with disastrous consequences.

Taking the NHS Along the Road to Ruin

Every pre-election promise David Cameron and the Tories made on the NHS, they broke (no surprise). Damaging cuts, unnecessary and disruptive re-organisations and £ BILLIONS of NHS services contracted out to the private sector even when they cost far more to do the same job (but they’ll still do it worse even then).

More Facts

Below is comprehensive well researched information by Eoin Clarke concerning the impact of Tory polices on the health service:

Here are a few highlights:

“518 GPs surgeries have closed or merged under the Tories. The rate is accelerating with 90 closing in the first 5 months of 2014

Performance at England’s A&Es has fallen to its worst levels since January 2004
